First GeoHos Workshop

GeoHos 2026 — First HIMO Conference

Geopolitical & Historical Organization Studies
Copenhagen — June 2, 2026

We are pleased to announce the first GeoHos workshop, organized within the HIMO project as a pre-event of the OAP (Organizations, Artifacts & Practices) Workshop.

Held at the French Embassy in Copenhagen, this inaugural event marks a major step in the development of a new research agenda at the intersection of management, geopolitics, and historical analysis.

GeoHos (Geopolitical & Historical Organization Studies) aims to structure an emerging international community of scholars working on the historical and geopolitical dimensions of management and organization.

About the workshop

The workshop explores how management has historically contributed to shaping geopolitical configurations, particularly through periods of war, industrial mobilization, and technological transformation.

Bringing together international scholars, GeoHos investigates the role of managerial knowledge, infrastructures, and institutions in the production of power, coordination, and global order.

Program highlights

  • Keynote session on management and war by François-Xavier de Vaujany
  • Parallel sessions on institutions, infrastructures, and geopolitics
  • International contributions from leading universities (PSL, CNRS, NYU, Cornell, WU Vienna…)
  • Panels on historical methodology and philosophy
  • Launch of the PSL Organologia Institute & HIMO database

Full program

The workshop is structured around keynote sessions, parallel tracks, and thematic panels covering management knowledge, infrastructures, and historical methodologies.

This first edition of GeoHos represents a key milestone in the development of the HIMO project and its international visibility, contributing to the structuring of a new research space at the crossroads of management, history, and geopolitics.

We look forward to welcoming participants in Copenhagen.
